Leon was known for being a little awkward and dorky when he was a kid growing up in Monoy, and as an adult he hasn’t entirely kicked the habit. Leon is the same age as Pilot’s older sister, Layla, and while Pilot was more friendly towards him as she would be to any other neighbor kid, Layla was so not interested. This was because she was the object of his affections and, of course being the shallow, popular beauty that she was, was far too good for him. Leon moved away from Monoy in his teens and eventually went to a culinary academy in Threhan to become a chef. When he returned home to Monoy and greeted Layla for the first time in years, she felt some emotion for the first time ever and realized that the dork she couldn’t stand as a child was her soul mate. The two of them got engaged almost immediately.

Leon and Layla are like night and day, but opposites do attract. Pilot is jealous of the fact that her sister is engaged and she’s yet to find love, but a part of her is happy for them, well at least Leon, a very small part. Leon moved in with Layla in her mother’s house, which Layla has already claimed for the day her mom becomes senile. Leon does his part by trying to cook for the family, but there was a minor setback in his schooling. Leon found that whenever he’d try to cook with black and white ingredients the result would be something that looked like yellow scrambled eggs and didn’t taste too good either, that is, assuming someone was willing to taste it after seeing and smelling it. This doesn’t give Leon any validity as a cook. He is ridiculed in his own hometown for being a lousy chef or a cook that doesn’t cook. Oh, if only they knew.

It isn’t too long after Pilot moves to Threhan that Leon decides he is better off there, at least for a while. His home is in Monoy but he temporarily stays in Threhan for work. Leon and Pilot are more like friends now than they were as kids, and occasionally he’ll drop by her place to crash for the night or to bring her a hot self-made meal. One of his favorite past times, as well as his means for staying in shape, is running, but in the kitchen is where Leon shines. He's even a mentor to a younger chef named Dyle. He gets a job at Reggie’s Five Star Restaurant and becomes one of the cooks in the “horse kitchen” complete with a few other horse-like chefs including a unicorn. This is just one of a few of his workplaces, as he is fired off and on due to his biggest flaw: shedding. Apparently, there’s no rule in Threhan that says cooks must cover their hair, and Leon’s got plenty of it. Any sign of worry, concern or otherwise stress (usually involving his fiance or future plans) will cause Leon to shed, often into the food he’s cooking. He’s been fired from Reggie’s and Elmo’s Diner but not yet from The Green Calf, a new hot spot in town themed to a children's fairy tale. Layla hates Leon’s “chef pants”, the purple and black stripey ones.

Leon tries hard to impress people, perhaps too hard. He's always willing to lend a helping hand, sometimes to the point where he starts to take over without even knowing it. He promised to look out for Pilot there in Threhan, since they are practically family now. Leon is a competent cook, but when things go bad, things go bad, and when he's worried he panics.

*Bonus fact: Originally Pilot wanted Leon and Layla to break up because she thought he was hot and wanted him for herself, but Leon was originally the flawless pretty-boy type. His personality was revamped along with his appearance.
